Corleone
Commemorating the yearly wine crush, the name for this drink was inspired by the hilly orchard landscape of the island of Sicily, home the Corleone family.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz grappa
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
2 dashes orange bitters (preferably Regan's No.6)
5 white grapes (such as Thompson Seedless)
Garnish: sugar-coated white grape*
Instructions:
*To make sugar-coated white grapes, roll grapes in egg white and dust heavily with superfine sugar. Refrigerate to harden and serve.
Place grapes in a cocktail shaker and press with a muddler. Add gin, grappa, lemon juice, simply syrup, and bitters; fill shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Make a thin slice in a sugar-coated grape and set it on the lip of the glass.
