Molasses & Mustard Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients:
1/2 C granulated sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp oregano
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 C vinegar
1 C ketchup
1 C molasses
1 C prepared mustard
1/2 T vegetable oil
Instructions:
1. Combine first seven ingredients in a sauce pan. Add just enough vinegar to make a paste.
2. Combine remaining vinegar with next four ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add to saucepan.
3. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Makes approximately 4 C of barbecue sauce.
