[Daniel] Mini Me Reads!

The other night, Mini Me surprised us & read a whole book to us ("My Big Boy Bed")! He's shown interest in stories & asked us if a thing he knows is coming happens next, but never a near-word-for-word reciting before. We're pretty sure it was from memory (as opposed to reading the words) but it was amazing nonetheless!

The boys have been very busy with new things this week. Mini Me (mostly) dressed himself for the first time! Then Number Two started chaining words into sentences, the first being "I love semi truck. I love cars." And as a final surprise, Mini Me took to the "First Words: Animals" iPhone app and shocked us by doing a bunch of aided spelling. Wow!

[Moriah] Number Two Randomly Falls Asleep

So I was sitting in the middle of the living room today while Mini Me was playing and I was talking with Grammie. Number Two came over to give me a hug, which he's been doing a lot of lately and is extremely cute, when, mid-hug, he falls asleep against my shoulder!!! I was totally dumbfounded and shocked. Grammie and I found it quite hilarious and adorable. Here Mini Me is making lots of noise and playing, and Grammie and I are having a conversation, and he's sleeping right through it all! He took about a 40-minute cat nap right there in my arms in the middle of the living room. He hasn't fallen asleep in my arms since he was an infant! I guess all the fresh spring air REALLY wiped him out yesterday! Oh my gosh, was it adorable and precious.

Long story short, I went to PyCon last week, which was awesome. While at PyCon, I gave a lightning talk (5 minutes, anything goes, fast-as-you-can about a topic) about my biggest open source project - Haystack.

[Daniel] Car Seat Upgrade!

Today was a big day. We measured Mini Me and discovered he was big/heavy enough to move to a booster seat! So he got upgraded to his new booster and Number Two got Mini Me's old car seat, which was an upgrade for him as well. We'll try to post pictures soon but both boys were thrilled.
