[Daniel] Sprained Ankle

I won't be skateboarding much for the next couple weeks. Last night, after picking up a brand new deck from Streets Of Fire, Moriah and I went skating. About an hour in, doing a simple ollie, I lost my balance and rolled my left ankle. >:(

Went to the Student Health Center today, got it looked at by a doctor. Diagnosis: Severe sprain w/ possible fracture. If the pain stays until Friday when I go in for a re-exam, they will do an X-ray. Needless to say, I am not that pleased. :'(

In other crappy news, I found out yesterday that I may not graduate in this spring after all. It seems there is a class I am supposed to be taking this semester that I am not and it is not offered in the spring. So now I have to either get into the class 3 weeks late or try to convince the professor that letting me do it as Independant Study is a Good Thing.

Oh, and here's (one of) the projects I am working on: TanPlan. It's coming together and we're working on beta testing right now. Then will come all of the other stuff I need to get to.

Enough complaining. Gotta get some more stuff done.

[Moriah] Another Great Skate Night!

We had another awesome skate session tonight! Actually, it was funny because we were only going to go for about a half hour or so, but we ended up having so much fun we skated for two hours! I was very proud of my honey tonight when he hit his first rock-to-fakie on the half pipe! WOO HOO!!! Congrats! I also had a lot of fun learning new stuff, like dropping in on the banks and getting up on the box by making it over the little quarter pipe. Aside from dropping in on the banks and having fun on the box, my theme tonight was speed, and I was having fun getting a lot of it. However, I had one bad fall and bruised up my knee, but oh well. It'll be fine. It was still a whole lot of fun!

[Moriah] Awesome Skate Night!

What an awesome skate session we had tonight! I was so sad when the lights went out at 11:00pm. We still skated for another 15 minutes in the dark. We were having too much fun! As you can see from Daniel's post, I landed several rolling ollies! I was also working on my manuals. I was very proud of Daniel with his rolling kickflips, too! Way to go, honey! :) Anyway, it was a great night. I hope we can do that again soon. Maybe not tomorrow, though, as my right quad is pretty sore. I suppose I better head off to bed now.

[Daniel] HUGE Skate Night!

We went skating at 9pm thinking we'd only stay for a half-hour. TWO hours later, we were still skating and having the best session ever. Biggest moment of pride...

Moriah landed her first rolling ollie!!!

For those of you who aren't big into skateboarding, it means that while rolling, she can jump her board up in the air. Everyone (who wants to) congratulate her!!! I am SOOOO PROUD! :D In addition, she also is starting to roll better manuals (wheelies) which is great too!

I had a good night too, landing rolling kickflips for the first time. After 2 years of trying and practicing, it was a good feeling to land it. Couple other tricks landed too. See the skate page for more detail...

[Daniel] Another New Semester

First day of what is hopefully my last year of college is complete. The verdict: I hate this semester already. I've had 4 out of my 5 classes (Legal Environment, Intro. To Marketing, Software Design & Development & Quantitative Business Analysis) and I hate them all. I can only hope I will enjoy my only class tomorrow (Database Systems). Oh, well.

Everyone give my Mom a shout! She's going back to school and we are so proud of her!

Gotta get back to studying (yes, even on the first night of school) and work. Got to pump out a little more code and figure out how to transfer the database tables from Kosmos to the server. Also, I'm going to be looking for some help beta testing out a web app, so if anyone is interested, please e-mail me.

[Moriah] Slacking

I'm such a bum. I've been sort of slacking off on the amount of homework I should be doing, but this semester is fairly light so I'm not getting behind. I have been doing some more skateboarding though. I finally landed a rolling ollie! (Geez, that sounds so puny...) But hey, I'm excited; my goal was to hit a rolling ollie by the end of summer, even if it wasn't a very good one, and I did it! If the weather's nice tomorrow night, I'm going to head out to the skate park and keep practicing. By next summer, my goal is to be able to ollie up curbs or over a small object. Should be fun!

I'm still busy preparing for the cooking class I'm doing for work. I will most likely be doing the class in late fall or early winter, depending on when I can get my info together and plan a date to do the demo.

Well, I think it's time to go to bed. Got a busy day tomorrow again.

[Daniel] Recipes

Since the "overwhelming" response has been positive toward Moriah's recipes, I will be working on something more on that this week. We'll see how far I get, what with school starting, increased emphasis on my web work and everything else that's blowing up this week. :\

Much more will happen in the coming days. Just you wait!
