[Daniel] Skate Section Live!

Work has been done on the Skate section so it's no longer bare. There isn't much there right now (only my kickflip has a movie associated with it) but there will be more there in the future. Just need a faster connection to the server to upload those files.

Also, archived more of the front page news so it should load faster. Left just enough here that you can see Moriah's last post. :D

[Daniel] Retribution

I am one happy panda. The photos that I stupidly lost are back, sorta. My final, and most costly, recovery option came through. As of the time of this post, I have ~102 pictures back out of the estimated 350 I lost. That number may jump tomorrow when I have more time to finish going through the pictures and snagging what I lost, if there are any more that got recovered. Next project: an automated backup system so that I never make this mistake again.

Edit - 9:21pm - Final count: Approximately 275 out of the 350ish lost have been recovered. The only real losses in this are quite a number of skateboarding pictures and short movies. As a result, the work on the Skate section is going to take longer and be less complete than what it was intended to be until Spring comes. Still, all in all, I am very happy with what was recovered. Now it's time to do some serious backups.

[Daniel] IDIOT!

I am a moron. In my exuberance to install the new version of OS X on our laptop, I managed to miss a few critical folders when backing up the data. As I discovered tonight, the pictures we took over the last six months are gone. Over 350 pictures, poof. All because I am an idiot.

Needless to say, I am kicking myself now. Here's hoping some sort of data recovery program might be able to help. :(
